Las Cruces is a town of 93,000 people and an interesting Wild West History. I will admit I am not a big fan of Las Cruces, however, some interesting things have presented themselves to me - and yesterday in particular I got to experience some "otherworldly" Las Cruces fun. In the heart of Las Cruces is an old part of town called Old Messina. This was founded hundreds of years ago by the Spanish and has quite a history including a shoot out with Billy the Kid and the outhouse where he hid when he escaped from jail. In that same block is a restaurant called the Double Eagle. The Double Eagle is a beautiful space and there are many rooms and incredible features including two ghosts. Well, my lunch companion is an investor in the restaurant and was giving me a tour of the building and took me into the "ghost" room. However, he did not tell me it was the ghost room. And before he even mentioned it I felt a presence...a chill on my back and up my arms. So, he then told me the story. As we sat in the bar and drank margaritas I noticed that everytime we spoke of the ghosts the lights flickered. Or was it my eyes from all of the alcohol?????
