It has been a while since my last post. Internet access in the barn was VERY limited, but now I am back to the world of hotel high speed wireless. I cannot begin the next chapter without summarizing the magical space where I spent the past 10 weeks. When my friend Greg offered his renovated barn I knew it would be nice, but it was truly one of my most peaceful, beautiful spaces to live. I learned how to slow down and quiet down for a few months and Hank learned how to sew his oats, literally. If I was to ask Hank what his favorite things were in the barn he would answer "Shasta, barn cats, Shasta, running in the field, Shasta, pooping without you following me, Shasta, knocking over hay bales, Shasta, chasing the neighbors, and humping Shasta in front of the picture window during Thanksgiving dinner. (Yes! He did that!) Now his mom's favorite things about the barn - learning to really light a fire and to be patient with the process, the outdoor jacuzzi in a light snowfall, waking up in the loft with the morning light, cooking slow food because there was no microwave, the organic garden, and the fact the cell phone did NOT work in the barn. And as the world normally works, we left on Tuesday and it already seems a life time ago. Now onto Palm Springs and the adventures which will be in store for us there. Stay tuned to the same Bat Channel for updates as Hank and I move across the west to arrive in time for Christmas Eve.

Until next time,

Brenda
